About Me

I’ve always had a knack for helping others learn new things. For me, there’s nothing more satisfying than finding exactly the right words to help a learner understand a complex topic, and I’ve been lucky enough to have a career devoted to doing this as an instructor at Valencia College.

At the same time, I’ve also been lucky enough to enjoy a hobby in filmmaking, specifically in the areas of screenwriting, directing, producing, and video editing. I’ve made several short films, all of which taught me unique lessons about the art of storytelling and world-building.

It’s probably no surprise, then, that these interests in teaching and storytelling have converge in the form of Instructional Design. I’ve finally found a central hub of sorts where all my passions can happily co-exist, and I’ve loved every minute of it so far!  Over the past few months I’ve been able apply this new skill-set to various situations at Valencia College in the form of job aids, surveys, questionnaires, needs assessments, and a fully-formed eLearning module, Linguistic Lifelines.

I’m excited to see how the application of my Instructional Design skills might impact many diverse fields ranging from the medical industry to corporate environments and beyond.
